Material Notes |
Eucalyptus Leucoxylon oil which is distilled from the leaves of this tree is hardly ever encountered outside Australia under the above name. It belongs to one of the larger Eucapharma oils and consists mainly of Cineole. In appearance, odor and flavor, it is quite similar to the Globulus oil. It has furthermore been claimed that the oil of Eucalyptus Lenucoxylon is never produced in a pure state since the tree grows along with two other quite similar species (E. elaeophora and E. sideroxylon). The leaves of these two trees also yield a Eucapharma oil, or the three oils are frequently distilled as one from a mixture of all three sorts of leaves. The oil is a pale yellow liquid, having a somewhat harsh topnote and a prolonged, sweet terpene dryout. As described above, the Cineole bodynote of this oil is similar to that of other eucapharma oils. |
