The nutmegs should preferably be free from most of their fixed oil prior to distillation. The fixed oil can be alcohol extracted to yield a small amount of essential oil which has been dissolved in the fixed oil during the expression. Nutmeg Oil is a pale yellow or almost water white mobile oil of a light, fresh, warm spicy and aromatic odor, a distinctly terpene topnote and a rich, sweet spicy, warm bodynote. The under. tone and dryout is somewhat woody, but remains warm and sweet in good oils. tsca definition 2008: extractives and their physically modified derivatives. myristica fragrans, myristicaceae. |
