Material Notes | Peru Balsam should not be used for products that come in contact with the skin. You may use the peru balsam oil but only in very small quantities. Peru Balsam is a pathological product which exudes from the trunk of the large Central American tree, Myroxylon Pereirae, when the bark is removed section wise from the tree.
