Material Notes A gum exuded from the flowering and fruiting stem of Dorema ammoniacum a perennial plant attaining a height of about 6 feet and native of Iran. The stems of these plants contain a large quantity of latex which exudes on their being punctured by a species of beetle The milky juice hardens on exposure to the sun, and some of it continues to adhere to the stem while the other part falls to the ground.
